FAQs

Not at all. Some people come in with a lot of experience, some haven’t sung in years, but some don’t even think of themselves as singers! If you’ve heard that inner voice and chosen to follow it here, that’s enough. 🦋

I am classically trained, and we can certainly establish a foundation of classical technique if that fits your goals!
However, I don’t approach the voice as something to ‘fix’ or ‘perfect.’ I help clients cultivate their inner observer, noticing breath, tension, and sensation. From there we connect with the fullness of your felt experience. Find the truth in the body, and let the voice organize around that. This allows for more easeful and expressive singing; a sound that is more authentic and less forced.

In somatic therapy, I guide you through processes that follow the body’s intelligence. Sometimes we start with physical sensations to guide us into the emotional, energetic, and spiritual bodies. Other times we might talk about your life and weave the soma into the stories & beliefs you hold to discover something more true or empowering.
I am trained in parts work, shadow work, dream work, and trauma-informed therapy, so all aspects of your wholeness are welcome and integrated.

No. You’re always in control of what you share. The work doesn’t rely on telling your story—it’s more about what’s happening in the present moment, in your body.
I am a trauma-informed practitioner, so it’s all welcome. I am skilled in titrating your experience so that you can heal wounds and re-pattern your nervous system little by little, without overwhelm.
-
Very grounded and practical. We focus on listening first—recognizing patterns, intervals, and relationships—so that theory actually connects to your experience of music. Think of it as building your musical mother tongue.
I can adjust content to meet you where you are: beginners or intermediate familiarity.
Skills we will develop & strengthen:
Become comfortable with major & minor scales & intervals
Build internal pitch memory (the ability to sing back a note, to recall the starting notes of a song, to sing accurately without instruments, etc.)
Learn how to identify a key, and how to transpose a song to best fit your voice
Learn the foundations of harmony
Develop the ability to sing in harmony! (This is where it gets really fun!)

This work can be deeply supportive and therapeutic, but it’s not a replacement for licensed psychotherapy. If you’re looking for clinical mental health care, I’m happy to help you find the right support alongside or in addition to this work.

I offer 60-minute sessions on a sliding scale of $140-170. With 4-or 8-session packages, each meeting is discounted.
I care about this work and about serving people who are aligned. If cost is the main factor holding you back, I am willing to work together to find reciprocity that feels accessible and sustainable for both of us. ❤️
